Data Services
Farmers are now collecting an abundance of data across the season, this data is often under utilised but can offer real value to your farming system.
Great Southern Ag Tech agronomic focused approach helps farmers start making their data pay. Combining Sam’s agronomic and technology knowledge he helps farmers organise and analyse data to help make on-farm decisions to improve productivity and return on investment.
Every farm is different so we provide custom data analysis services tailored to the outcome you need. Whether it’s zoning paddocks with yield and multispectral imagery, building a soil map with soil samples, or putting together historical information to establish trends that aid future decisions, we can help. We also offer the option for a sit down consult to go through the data and analysis to work out how it can best work for you.
Precision Farming Data
Yield Maps
Every year modern harvesters are collection accurate yield maps from across your farm. We offer raw data processing as some systems require extra processing to produce visual maps. We also offer stack analysis where we combine multiple year’s data into one to define paddock zones and see long term trends.
Paddock Zoning
The basis of precision farming is defining different areas of a paddock into different zones. This allows for specifically optimised production for these zones for better overall agronomic production outcomes. We can define these zones by bringing together yield maps, NDVI (drone or satellite) and other data such as soil tests or EM38.
Soil Maps
Every soil type is different and knowing where each soil type is and managing it accordingly can help improve overall production. It also allows for targeted soil testing and improving the efficiency of input applications such as fertiliser and lime.
Variable Rate Maps
Variable rate technology is increasingly important in modern farming systems. It allows for more efficient application of inputs, targeted lime and other amelioration activities. We can take a range of data points including yield, NDVI, soil and EM38 maps to make application maps tailored to your requirements and equipment.
Nitrogen Rich Strips
To aid in-season nitrogen decisions we can assist farmers in implementing nitrogen rich strips across their paddocks. These strips provide an “unlimited” nitrogen comparison across the paddock that can be used to work out crop demand in real time. Through multispectral drone imagery and tissue testing, we can help farmers quantify these strips to inform decision making.
Paddock & Operation Planning
Using software developed under the Grain Automate project we can help optimise paddock and farm operations. The software takes into account machinery size, access gates and area covered per tank to optimise paddock start points, AB lines and refill locations.
This is also the perfect solution when setting up controlled traffic as the software can determine the best way to operate the machinery in each paddock.
This also assists in machinery planning as it can determine efficiency of different sized pieces of machinery for your farm.
On-Farm Trials
Leveraging Sam’s experience in research and development he is able to assist in the design and implementation of on farm trials. By trialling different practices and application rates on your own property, trials can offer invaluable insights into optimising return on investment and farm planning.
We offer help with every step of the process including planning, establishment, data analysis and results interpretation. This includes creating variable rate application maps, in-season assessments and monitoring and processing yield maps and quality data at the end of the season.
